                                               Should students have a longer school year?
No students shouldn't have a longer school year because it's wasting their Summer time. Under certain circumstances kids who fall behind would have a longer summer school to make up multiple classes that they have failed.Maybe if teachers regulate more in class the students wouldn't have to have a longer school year. Once the schools institute this change the kids that did good in school will have good things coming for them later on in life .Also the students that didn't do well that did poorly would have to deal with making up work. In conclusion I feel that students shouldn't have a longer school year .

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 38 - Video Games

                                   Should video games be used in school curriculum?
 

    Yes video games should be allowed in school because it gives kids hands on learning activities. Also it can have many feature to it like in math such as multiplication, addition, subtraction .   One aspect is that there learning faster on computers than text books . But also if the teachers don't teach them how to be social them one consequence would be that they wont have good talking skills .

Should plastic bags be banned?

For example, Plastic bags shouldn't  be banned because there used to carry food.  
In addition, many families go grocery shopping and have to take buses home so this is a good way to carry your food.
Also, if you have trash cans you can use them as trash bags.
In conclusion, I feel that plastic bags should not be banned because there used for a lot of things.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 35 - Sweatshops

Sweatshops,shouldn't be allowed because the adults should be the ones that are working to get money.
For example, if kids are working in factorys at a young age that is conisderd child labor
In addition, If the child wants to work in a factory they shoud sing a contract sayin that if that want to quit any time they can.
Also, I feel from my perspective that if my child want to work in a factory i would let them but if they didn't want to I wouldnt push them to make them work.
In conclusion, I feel that childern should apply for jobs that they wont be commited to doing.

Should lower grade levels be allowed to go to prom ?

Lower class students should not be able to go to prom.For example at a real high only upper class men are able to go to prom and the only way lower classmen would be able to go is if some one older invited them. Also students should wait to there seinor year because It would be exiting and a new experiance for them. In conclusion I feel that that should be the rule for all schools.

                   Should students have saturday school when their late to school?


studen should not get saturday school for being late to class. For example I feel that it should be a detention instead of saturday school . Also I feel that some teachers are late to school also so if the case is that students have to get saturday school for being late that the teachers should be the ones that teach saturday school . Because if the teachers want to set an example for us to be early to class but there late to work they should think about that.

     Are Ameican students falling behind compared to students from other countries?
American students, are failing but not all most students have differnt ranges of learning
For example, we have many souce of data and it says we have enough wealth for familys.
In addition, compared to many other countries we have time after school to do other things when other countries go to shool everyday.
Also, in other schools we have many classesto do.
In conclusion, I feel that we as America students have are way of learning.

                         Should parents be held accountable for their child's damage?

No parents shouldnt be accountable for their childs damage. The child should be ressonable for what they have done. For an exaple, if theres a specfic  damage that is notthat bad the students should take care of it and pay for it because they were the ones who ruin it. Also if it gets out of hand and it keeps on happing the court can start computing things so the kidswill get in bigger trouble. By doing this students can Achieve there goals and staop doing bad things.

                                           Should schools eliminate "D" grades?


      Yes schools should eliminate''Ds'' out of the grading .  For example it helps the the student want to interact with the teacher more and want to there work. Also it can help in a long run for college because most four year colleges will not take D's on a transcript.initially it might come as a shock to many high school students but they will get over it and learn that its not that hard. Kids will have to compensate and study hard to keep their grades up to pass.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 27 - Drug-Sniffing Dogs

School officials do not have the right to use drug sniffing dogs. One reason is because teachers shouldn't ASSUME that student's have drugs. Another reason is because the PROCESS is very costly and the money could spent else where. Lastly, students may RESPOND in a negative way. Overall, school officials should not use drug sniffing dogs.

Parents should not have to face jail time if they miss their child's school conference. One reason is because not all parents have the RESOURCES to get to their child's school. In addition parents have the oppourtunity to SEEK teachers in other ways than through a conference. Lastly, some students are TRANSFERRED to far away schools and that makes it more difficult for parents to attend. Overall, parents should not have to face jail time if they miss their child's school conference.

Should Global Positioning System (GPS) devices be required for habitually truant students?

  No because teachers  should focus on the kids that want to learn instead of spending time on others who want to not be at school. Also because the school administers should be watching the students to see if the kids are gone.The students’ conduct doesn’t reflect the reason why they’re truant.And because some students have an element and school probably just isn't one for them.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 26 - Concealed Carry

Adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun. One reason somone may JUSTIFY having a concealed handgun is because they can use it for self-defense. In addition, the 2nd amendment ESTABLISHES the right to have a gun. Lastly, someone shouldn't have to INDICATE whether they have a gun because it is their right. Overall, adults should be abled to carry a concealed handgun.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 24 - Online Learning

Online learning is an effective way to educate students. One reason is that if a student lives in a rural AREA this will allow them to still be able to learn. In addition, teachers can DIFFERENTIATE between student's learning abilities and can teach them differently. Lastly, teachers can CLARIFY their instructions online. Overall, online learning is an effective way to eduacate students.

                                     I wouldn't want cars to drive them selves .

    No because it can be very dangerous to be in car crashes.  Also because  if an emergency might occur during the car drive and you wouldn't  able to put your car to the side of the road.
Also because the method is to learn how to drive yourself and that's why you get your drivers license. No because that's why you take a driving test so then you can proceed. No because the gps might take the wrong route

Should dogfighting be illegal


Yes  I do think that dogfighting should be illegal beecause its abuse to animals.

For example, beause many of the dogs that are fighting other dogs have differnt potential than others.
In addition, some dogs are distinct from others from their abiltiy .
Also, some owners my not have the right fromula to slove their dogs problems of fighting again.
In conclusion, I feel that dogs shouldn't be fighting its like getting abused by their family because there dogs. Just like us humans get abused by humans.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 21

Performance enhancing drugs, such as steriods, should not be allowed in sports. For example, atheletes PRIMARY concern should be getting better without using drugs. In addition, during the PERIOD of time of their career they should not use any drugs. Also, atheletes should create a new TRADITION so that other athletes don't want to use either. Overall, steriods and other drugs shouldn't be allowed in sports.

                                 Should two hour curfwe be 8:00 ?




I feel that it shouldnt be 8:00 because if thats the case the middle school curfwe should be the same time. But on the other hand middle school curfwe is 8:30 . I feel that we should have the same rights as everyone else . To prove my point I feel that since the middle school curfwe is 8:30 it should be lowerd to 8:00 and us high schoolers should get moved up to 8:30. Because their younger and plus if you add up the time that their suppose to be in there houses its 8:30 and then the room time is 9:30 but in the morning they would have to wake up at 6:30 and have to be redy by 7:00 and leave before 8:00. and it wouldnt be that hard for us because we go to school on campus and school starts at 8:15 but thats from my prsective .

should studentts get saturday school when there late ?

I feel that students should not get Saturday school when there late because half of the teachers are late to school almost every day . Second of all I feel that its not fair that we as students should have to cancel are passes to see are family to go to Saturday school . from my prospective I feel that when teachers are late they should be marked down tarty to . For an example Ms. Priester is late to school almost every day of the week . because of that I feel that the teachers that are late should be going to Saturday school as the  teacher that is teaching.
